French Figural Mantle Clock. Cast metal mantle clock case has a gilt finish with a figure of a merchant leaning against the timepiece with a chest at his feet, pierced filigree back and swirling filigree decorated base having inset painted porcelain panels, case is stamped “A. Adam”. 3.25 in. porcelain dial has black Roman hour numerals, blued pierced hands and is signed “Hry. Marc, A Paris”; typical, round, French brass, spring driven movement is signed Japy Freres, and strikes on a steel bell. Dial has a few hairlines and chips around the arbor holes. 11 in. high x 13.5 in. wide x 4 in. deep.
