Antique Clock Auction, November 23rd 2013 – French Empire Inlaid Portico Clock

French Empire Inlaid Portico Clock. 4 in. porcelain dial has black Roman hour numerals, open moon hands and signed J. Valery, a Paris; typical round French brass 8 day spring driven movement with bell strike and gridiron pendulum with filigree decorated gilt bronze bob. The inlaid walnut case has a dark brown finish with serpentine crest, 4 spiral turned columns having gilt bronze capitols & bezel and the base. Dial has some damage at 1 o’clock and the clock’s suspension spring is missing. 21 in. high x 10.5 in. wide x 6 in. deep.
