U.S. CIVIL WAR ERA LOUISVILLE LEGION STYLE FROCK COAT. Long dark blue, wool frock coat with 5 large Ohio state polished brass buttons down the front. The coat is trimmed in 1/2" black braided trim and decorated with "Red Tubrelar" silk braids around each button, the collar, above the cuffs and down the back. Has a 3 button non-functional cuff with small Ohio state buttons. Quality inner lining with a left hand inner pocket; in the pocket is the original makers tag "The M.C. Lilly & Co. Columbus, OH". Has square coat tails with braids and buttons above. Complete with shoulder board (epaulette) mounts. In very good condition, no moth wear, lining is good and the trim is crisp. Estimated Value $2,500 - 3,500.
