This R.J. Horner and Joseph Jennens mahogany 9 tube grandfather clock has a heavy quality 12 in. silvered dial signed “Joseph Jennens, Skinner Street, Clerkenwell, London” has gilt brass applied hour numbers, sub seconds dial, engraved gilt brass filigree corner spandrels and center, moon phase dial in the arch and fancy pierced blued hands; sub dials for Chime-Silent and Westminster Chimes-Whittington Chimes. Quality brass 8 day weight driven movement is stamped “Made in England” has Graham deadbeat escapement, maintaining power, beat adjustment at the top of the crutch, mercurial single glass jar pendulum with steel stick, fancy engraved gilt brass frame and 4-spoke brass pulleys with brass covered weights; has 8 silvered tubes and coiled cathedral gong. Carved mahogany R. J. Horner case, has a serpentine form with broken arch crest, winged griffins and swirling leaves on the bonnet, carved lions heads on the corners of the body, with a figural putti on the base and claw feet. In excellent running condition and fine original finish. 106 in. high x 26.5 in. wide x 18 in. deep.
