Hershedes 9 Tube Mahogany Grandfather Clock. Large brass dial has a silvered 12 in. chapter ring with applied gilt brass Arabic hour numbers, fancy scrolling gilt pierced center and spandrels, silvered sub seconds dial, sub dials for Chime-Silent & Westminster-Whittington, moon phase dial and Herschedes crown mark; quality brass movement has Graham deadbeat escapement, quarter hour strike with 9 tubes, 3 quality brass weights & pulleys and steel pendulum rod with brass covered bob, movement signed Herschedes, Cincinnati, 523. In a mahogany case with scroll carved crest, tapered pilasters on the bonnet and tapered pilasters on either side of the beveled door glass. In good condition and original finish. 94 in. high x 22 in. wide x 14 in. deep.
