Lot 117, a 4 piece Eastlake Marble Top Bedroom Set. Excellent carved walnut bedroom set has heavily carved crests with filigree, spiral turned half columns, raised panels with excellent walnut grain and nice original brass pulls. Full sized bed has spiral turned half columns, bowed frieze panels and inset panels framed in carved filigree on the headboard and footboard. 2 door armoire has spiral turned half columns and 2 drawers in the base. Marble top dresser with beveled mirror high back, 3 drawers over 2 full drawers. Washstand has a beveled mirror back with carving, rouge marble top and back-splash, full length drawer over 2 drawers and a door in the base. In good condition with an original finish. Consecutive serial numbers “2714 & 2715”, 7.5 in. octagonal barrel, rifled bore, .44 caliber, 6 shot revolver, ramrod, carved grips; signed on the top of the frame “Rogers & Spencer – Utica, NY”, overall blued finish on the barrels & frames, all numbers matching. Lot 23, A Charles P. Appel (1857-1928, New Jersey) oil on canvas sunset landscape. Colorful scene with trees in the foreground and a small pond reflecting the light, a colorful sunset illuminates the background. In good condition with a cleaned and varnished canvas, signed lower left C.P. Appel. 18 in. high x 40 in. wide (sight), period frame measures 26 in. high x 48 in. wide. Another noteworthy lot of the furniture category is Lot 78, a carved Mahogany Partners Desk with a Serpentine shaped top with side banks having bowed fronts, fancy floral and filigree carvings on the 8 legs with large square claw feet; hanging ribbons, garland and filigree on the side panels. The front of the desk has a door on the left side with 4 vertical portfolio dividers, center drawer and 4 deep drawers on the right; the reverse side of the desk has 4 short drawers on the right and a center drawer.
