Tiffany Studios Dore 12 Light Lily Lamp. Dore bronze pond lily pad base with floral buds, has 12 long tubular stems, curling over at the top with porcelain sockets and leafy fitters at the ends; has an original lily leaf switch on the right side of the base and period snap switch mechanism, the base is signed “Tiffany Studios, New York, 1063”. The gold iridescent art glass lily shades have a ribbed and trumpeted form with a wavy edge and lobed fitter end. 21 in. high x 15 in. wide x 15 in. deep.

2. Bessie Potter Vonnoh Sculpture – Butterflies

Exceptional carved mahogany floor standing case has an arched crest with bellflowers and ribbons pierced carved around a stylized seashell, turned corner finials, spiral turned and leaf carved bonnet columns with beveled door glass; 17 panel beveled glass mullioned door with seashell corner spandrels, turned and carved corner columns, ribbons and bellflowers around a leafy rosette in the inset base panel and stands on large claw feet. Excellent condition and original finish. 98 in. high x 27 in. wide x 16.5 in. deep.

Quality carved nude figure of a kneeling putti, the figure carries on his shoulder a pillow with carved tassels and drapery at the rear under a gadrooned carved block and leather wrapped platform measuring 9.75 in. wide x 9.75 in. deep; the serpentine form base has fluted panels, filigree carved corners and a fancy cut base. In excellent condition and original medium brown finish. 39.5 in. high x 12 in. wide x 12 in. deep.

Howard & Co., Boston” has black Roman hour numerals and blued open moon hands; brass 8 day weight driven time only No. 4 movement signed “E. Howard & Co., Boston” has an anchor escapement, solid brass pulley, iron No. 10 weight, gilt wood pendulum stick with damascened brass covered bob and brass lockdown hardware on the black painted weight baffle. In an excellent walnut figure 8 case with original red, black and gold leaf reverse painted throat and tablet glasses in very good condition. Excellent clean original finish, dial has minimal paint flaking with no inpainting; an excellent, clean and original example, has original setup instructions label behind the door. 37.75 in. high x 12.5 in. wide x 5.25 in. deep.

Heavy standing spelter figure of a young woman wearing long garments with 3 long flowering branches wrapping around her; titled on the base “Gallatea”, signed under the iron base plate with a pressed copper tag which reads “B&H” for Bradley & Hubbard. The 3 flowering branches have single sockets at the ends with 2.25 in. dia. shade fitters; 3 Tiffany Favrile gold iridescent art glass tulip shades, signed “L.C.T.” are in excellent condition. Base has a 2 tone light brown and green finish, overall in very good condition. 31 in. high x 16 in. wide x 19 in. deep – Shades measure 3.5 in. 3.5 in. high x 2.5 in. dia. Weight: 34.25 lbs.

French Bronze Mantle Clock – An Allegory of Industry. Excellent large bronze sculpture with a figure of “Industry” seated on a locomotive titled “Progress”, her hair and cape blowing in the breeze, she wears a crown with wings and holds a cornucopia in her right hand; on a large black marble base which is mounted with industrial tools on the feet and a plaque on the front having a portrait of a woman over a banner which reads “Sciences, industrie, Arts”, sculpture is signed “A. Vetu, a Paris”. The 4.5 in. dia. center wheel of the locomotive represents the dial of the clock with applied brass Roman hour numerals and gilt brass open moon hands; typical round brass 8 day spring driven movement with half hour strike on a bell. Good overall condition, clock runs and strikes, marble base has a few minor edge chips. 22 in. high x 24.5 in. wide x 9.5 in. deep. Weight: 78.5 lbs.

10. William Hart O/C Landscape – Cows By The River

William Hart (1823-1894, NY) oil on canvas landscape with cows by a river, 2 figures walking along a path into the trees with a mountainous background and farmstead; signed lower left “Wm. Hart, 64”. Canvas is wrapped on a wood panel, measures 12 in. high x 20 in. wide – Frame: 19.5 in. high x 27.5 in. wide. Weight: 12 lbs.

11. Ever Ready Electric Mantle Clock

The Ever Ready electric clock manufactured by the Ever Ready Specialties Co., designed after Herbert Scotts 1902 Patents, a battery operated clock with batteries contained in the mahogany base. 5 in. porcelain dial signed by the retailer “London Stereoscopic Company, 106 & 108 Regent St., London” has black hour numbers and a silvered bezel, raised on 4 pillars with turned finials on top; the pendulum with magnetic bob swings over a pair of coils with powers the mechanism. Under a box dome with beveled front, side and top glasses, mirrored back panel with nickel plated moldings; lower door is missing lock key, right side glass is cracked in the upper front corner. 17 in. high x 11.5 in. wide x 7.75 in. deep. Weight: 10.5 lbs.

Howard & Co., Boston”, has gold painted Roman hour numerals, original pierced brass open moon hands and original walnut bezel; brass weight driven time only No. 5 movement signed “E. Howard & Co., Boston” with anchor escapement, solid brass pulley with original iron No. 5 weight, turned wood pendulum rod with damascened silvered bob and brass lockdown hardware. In an exceptional walnut wall hanging case having turned and carved finials, fluted and carved pediment, lower bracket, turned corner columns on the door with ebonized highlights and a weight baffle with birds-eye maple front panel. 2 finials have repair to the tips, repair at the top of the pendulum rod, dial has some bending, dial bezel has chipping on the back side, door has repair at the hinge joints, original wavy glasses; in excellent original finish. 46 in. high x 15.5 in. wide x 7.25 in. deep.

Carved figure of a standing Madonna wearing extravagant robes and a crown with fleur de lis, she holds the robed holy child seated in her right arm holding an orb in his lap and right hand raised with pointing middle and index fingers. Excellent medium brown finish, in good overall condition with typical minor repairs. 60 in. high x 16 in. wide x 13 in. deep.

Rococo Figural Hour Repeater Carriage Clock. Excellent gilt bronze case with fancy filigree, cornucopias and figural putti, has porcelain inserts in the top, sides and base, 2 in. porcelain dial with sub alarm dial; case front and back have sliding panels which lift up from the top of the case exposing the dial and movement. Brass spring driven movement has a platform lever escapement with half hour strike on a coiled gong, hour repeater and alarm mechanism; movement is running and striking, repeater and alarm mechanisms are functional, case is in good condition with no breaks or losses, no hairlines or repairs to the porcelain, an excellent example. 9.5 in. high x 5.5 in. wide x 5 in. deep. Weight: 8.5 lbs.

16. KPM Hand Painted Porcelain Plaque – Marchen

KPM Hand Painted Porcelain Plaque – Marchen. Beautiful hand painted porcelain plaque titled “Marchen” (Fairy Tale); scene of a scarlet robed maiden with bare breasts beside a pond in an enchanted forest standing beside and leaning back against a white horse. Excellent condition with no damage, signed with impressed KPM and scepter mark over letters “Sz” and “D.” and has a blue Royal Vienne beehive mark. 12.5 in. high x 7.5 in. wide – Frame: 18.25 in. high x 13.25 in. wide. French Figural Conical Pendulum Mystery Clock. Standing bronze figure of Clotho, one of the three fates signed “A.B. Nadaud” (1835-1889, France), the figure stands wearing long robes and holding a spindle of thread, has a medium brown patina on a gilt bronze platform with a basket of yarn and on a black marble base with scrolled side corbels and gilt bronze hoofed feet. 3.75 in. black marble dial inscribed “Echap’t circulaire a dEtente”, has pierced gilt brass Roman hour numerals, gilt spade hands and brass door bezel with beveled crystal. Round French brass spring driven movement signed “Bernoux, Paris, Brevete” and “S. Marti et cie.”, has an half hour strike on a bell; rotary detent escapement powers the conical pendulum bob hanging from the silk thread held by the figure. In good overall condition, has a minor front corner repair to the marble, clock is in working condition. 23 in. high x 12.5 in. wide x 7 in. deep. Weight: 35.75 lbs.

18. Pairpoint Puffy Reverse Painted Table Lamp

Pairpoint Puffy Reverse Painted Table Lamp. Large puffy San Remo style shade is reverse painted with panels of colorful roses in various sizes, shapes and stages of blooming with green filigree, white enamel background with yellow enamel highlights and gilt lined highlights on the exterior; shade measures 9 in. high x 14 in. wide x 12 in. deep (rim is 12 x 12), has 1 fitter flake on the exterior edge and 2 on the interior edge. On a relief filigree decorated base with teardrop stem, square platform, 2 socket light cluster and 4 arms supporting the shade; signed “The Pairpoint Mfg. Co, B3033”, 1 socket replaced. 24 in. high. Lg. 5 in. inset porcelain seconds dial signed “Aubert & Klaftenberger, Geneve” with sweep seconds hand, porcelain 2.25 in. sub time dial with open moon hour and minute hands, exposed pin pallet escapement has jeweled pallets; lower 5 in. porcelain perpetual calendar dial indicates months, date, days and moon phase, dials are set in a fancy engraved gilt brass panel. Fancy brass spring driven movement has square plates with an arched top, signed “Aubert et Klaftenberger, a Geneve”, has an half hour strike on a bell, quality gridiron pendulum with brass bob; lower perpetual calendar mechanism is in good working condition. Large crystal regulator case has a pure white marble overhanging top and base with brass frame work and beveled glass on 4 sides.
Movement and calendar mechanism are sequentially numbered 10326 and 10327, the dial backs and corresponding movement and mechanism parts bear matching numbers; the marble base and case parts are numbered 10969 and many parts bear the finish mark “4”, clock is in excellent condition and running. 16.5 in. high x 10.25 in. wide x 7.75 in. deep. Weight: 46.75 lbs.

Attr: Robert Houdin Glass Dial Mystery Clock. 5 in. double plate glass dial, the fixed front plate has reverse painted black Roman hour numerals, gilt arrow pointer hand fixed to the rear glass plate which rotates, driven by gears on its outer edge contained in the brass bezel. The dial sits on gilt bronze filigree molded arms raising up from the center stem containing additional gears and arms connecting to the escapement of the movement, the bronze base has a serpentine form with sphinxes flanking a column over an applied floral basket mount. Round French brass silk thread movement signed “Henry Marc, Paris” and “Brevet D’Invention” trade mark, has an hour strike on a bell in the base. On a gilt carved wood base, in nice condition. 16 in. high x 7.5 in. wide x 4.5 in. deep. Weight: 5.75 lbs.

Figural Torsion Pendulum Mystery Clock. 28 in. standing spelter figure of a woman wearing spring garments, she holds the pendulum up in one hand and a nest with a bird in the other beside her hip; the pendulum hangs by a ring at the bottom of the posts she is holding. 17.5 in. long pendulum has a metal rod running through a silvered tube with counterbalances on the sides, the 4 in. spherical pendulum bob contains the brass spring driven time only movement which is numbered 2072; the front of the bob is the dial and has applied pierced brass Roman hour numerals. 28 in. high x 11 in. wide x 11 in. deep. 12 Royal Copenhagen Flora Danica Fish Plates. 12 exceptional quality porcelain plates measuring 10 in. dia., plates have a jagged rim with gilt highlighted edge and various hand painted fish in the center panel. Each plate is inscribed on the back with the species of fish, green Royal Copenhagen, Denmark with crown signature over 3 blue wavy lines (for Royal Copenhagen) and numbered 19-3549. Mint condition, no damage or wear. Weight: 18 lbs.

Excellent marked “750” (18K) yellow gold round very thin case with crystals on the front and back exposing the gilt engraved skeletonized movement with gilt dial signed “Breguet” and “Tiffany & Co.”, has black painted Roman hour numerals and black open moon hands; movement is stem wind and stem set with blue sapphire cabochon on the winding crown. Watch was purchased though Tiffany & Co., NY in 1988, has letter and receipts totaling $11,500 in 1984. Accompanied by original Blue Suede Tiffany box.

French Figural Mystery Swinger Clock – Glaneuse. French cast spelter figure of a woman titled “Glaneuse” is inscribed “Aug. Moreau”, depicts a woman gathering crops wrapped in her garments, on a turned wood faux rouge marble base and stands 21.25 in. high. The gridiron pendulum is 19 in. long, the spring driven 8 day movement is contained within the silvered tub at the top of the pendulum behind the 3.25 in. porcelain dial with black Roman hour numerals on the chapter ring, Arabic 5 minute markers outside and blued spade hands; movement signed with Guilmet (GLT) mark and numbered 5183. Clock is in good condition overall, running, dial has hairlines, inpainting at the number 40, missing crystal, the figure’s right arm is repaired. 26.5 in. high. Weight: 8.75 lbs.

Animated & Musical Singing Bird Jewelry Box. Oval gilt brass box with hinged lid and open interior, a small lever in the front opens a scenic enamel decorated oval hinged lid on the top which lifts up and exposes the small animated feathered bird which flaps its wings and swivels back and forth while whistling a tune; the base contains a miniature 4 tune Swiss music box which operates on a separate switch in the front of the case, the 4 tunes are engraved on the bottom plate. Oval dial in the front of the box measures 1.25 in. high x 0.75 in. wide with black hour numbers, has a spring driven watch-type movement, stem wind and stem set with winding crown under the bottom of the case. In excellent condition, case is clean with no damage, all mechanisms are in working condition. 3.25 in. high x 4.5 in. wide x 4 in. deep. Weight: 2.25 lbs.

A small lever hidden behind a compartment in the front of the case lifts the hinged lid on the top and exposes the animated feathered bird which flaps its wings and swivels back and forth while whistling a tune; the rear of the case also has a hidden hinged compartment. The case front has a square silvered dial signed “Angelus” with applied gilt brass hour numbers and brass bezel; has a spring driven 8 day time only Swiss movement which winds, sets and runs. Case has an excellent original light oak finish and is in excellent condition, tablet has very light flaking to the paint, dial is in good overall condition with no visible inpainting, front tab of lockdown hardware is replaced, has original locks and key, has winding key. In a large floor standing carved walnut case with swirling filigree carved crest over a pediment carved dog’s head in the arch, long overhanging cornice top with nicely carved scrolling corbels on the front and sides; has an original reverse engraved glass door panel with a grapevine border, interior mirrored back panel and stands on a wide base with beveled top edge and inset panels. Refinished condition, has some minor restoration to trim pieces, upper door hinge has a repair at the joint; movement has been adjusted to accommodate a center weight as compared to a side weight and the mounting board for the iron back bracket has been replaced. 109 in. high x 38 in. wide x 14 in. deep.

Warren Telechron Type-A Master Clock. 2.25 in. silvered time dial with black hour numerals and blued hands powered by a spring driven mechanical movement with electric self-winding mechanism; the center “synchronous” dial measures 3.5 in. dia. divided into 5 one minute sectors, the blued hand is driven by the mechanical movement and the gold hand is driven by a separate synchronous movement running on “AC” current; the hands make a full rotation every minute and should be in-line with each other if the frequency of the alternating current is correct, when the hands differ, an operator can make the proper adjustments using the controls under the top lid of the case; the upper dial is simply a backup running on a separate synchronous motor in the event that the first motor is not running correctly. Dials are all signed “Warren Telechron Co., Ashland, MA, USA”, the Telechron Synchronous motors are both labeled “Type B3” and “Model M168”. The oak case has beveled door glass, polished finish, mechanical winding key and key for the doors; signed on a brass tag on the front “Master Clock, No. 149, Type-A, Manufactured by Warren Clock Co. for General Electric Co., USA”. Has a brass spring driven movement with perpetual calendar mechanism and half hour strike on a bell; movement has a complex pin pallet escapement with separate gear and lever operating the seconds dial as the pendulum swings, has a heavy brass gridiron pendulum with beat adjustment dial in the bob. Case is in good overall condition, has minor chips to 2 corners of the door glass, front dial plate is missing a few screws which hold it into place.16 in. high x 12.25 in. wide 8 in. deep. German 18th Century Silver Trophy Urn. 32 in. monumental hand chased, repousse and pierced decorated trophy urn, the lid has a finial with a standing figure of a nude woman looking into a hand mirror with a figure of cupid standing in front of her, the lid has relief filigree, fruit and panels with figures of men riding mythical dragonesque water creatures. The body of the urn has a large bowl top with relief scenic panels of gods and goddesses along with nude male and female winged angel busts; the bottom of the urn has an inverted bell form with more symbolic full standing God and Goddess figures surrounded by filigree and animals including a monkey, rabbit, squirrel, butterflies, snails, serpents and phoenixes. On an urn shaped stem with 3 handles, pierced decorated plinth and wide trumpeted base. Signed on the bowl, top of base and on the rim, each with 3 hallmarks including a scripted number “13 Lot” silver purity mark (13/16 Lot is .812 fineness), this mark is consistent with early German silver hallmarks of the 19th century and earlier; the other 2 marks we have not been able to identify. In overall very good condition, has a very minor 2″ stress crack in the bottom of the bowl; engraved under the lid with a very fine coat of arms. 31 in. high x 10.75 in. dia. Weight: 151 oz.

The electric movement is powered by a 6v No. 529 battery, a single jeweled pallet on the pendulum crutch engages the escape wheel every 2 seconds (as the pendulum swings back to the right, the pallet rotates the escape wheel by 1 tooth, there are 15 teeth total), when the escape wheel makes 1 full revolution (30 seconds) contacts are made which resets the cycle by both pushing the pendulum to the right and sending power to the slave dial which is set to move in 30 second intervals; the iron A-frame movement bracket is signed on a brass tag “Gillett & Johnston, Croydon, England, patent number 194407” and dated 1923, the long steel pendulum rod has a heavy cylindrical pendulum bob. Fine quality brass 8 day single weight driven time only movement signed E. Howard & Co., Boston” features a brass 4 leg gravity escapement with silvered arms, has jeweled faces on the lifting arms and locking stops, maintaining power and replaced lead side weight with 2 solid brass pulleys; movement is mounted on an original iron bracket with iron side weight bracket mounted in the top right corner. Has an original pendulum with steel rod and cylindrical single jar steel bob, along with a replica stainless steel pendulum which makes use of the original silvered steel top plugs and silvered brass beat adjustment disc. In a walnut 2 door wall hanging case in good condition and original finish. Painted dial has some flaking. Weight cable removed, original pendulum has had the silvered finish removed and altogether has a tarnished surface, replica pendulum is in excellent condition, movement plate has extra holes in the front where there was likely a chronograph mechanism was attached. Measures 60 in. high x 18.5 in. wide x 11 in. deep.
Inside of the maintaining power wheel is inscribed “LPE 1874, Cleaned 3-1884 LPE, Put up in Supt’s (Superintendent’s) Office 3-1892 LPE, CLD 1-1900 LPE”; Based on the inscriptions this clock hung in the Howard; LPE continued to maintain the clock over the years. “LPE” are the initials for L.P. Emerson who worked in the precision department at E. Howard & Co. from c.1850-1900. It is most likely this clock was an early prototype for the eight clocks ordered by the Naval Observatory for the 1874 Transit of Venus Expedition. This clock has very rare jeweled lifting faces that are not found in Howard gravity escapements.

The electric movement is powered by a 6v No. 529 battery, a single jeweled pallet on the pendulum crutch engages the escape wheel every 2 seconds (as the pendulum swings back to the right, the pallet rotates the escape wheel by 1 tooth, there are 15 teeth total), when the escape wheel makes 1 full revolution (30 seconds) contacts are made which resets the cycle by both pushing the pendulum to the right and sending power to the slave dial which is set to move in 30 second intervals. Has an iron A-frame movement bracket, the long steel pendulum rod has a heavy cylindrical pendulum bob and the back plate of the dial movement is stamped “Synchronome, Patented”.
