U.S. INFANTRY SACK JACKET - CIVIL WAR.
Standard issue dark blue wool jacket, 12 small button front and trimmed in yellow wool twill tape. The collar has 2 double stripes of trim with small buttons, the functional cuff has 2 small buttons, and an angled stripe, the back has two stripes finished with standard pillows at the base. Lined interior with left pocket and muslin sleeve lining, signed in the sleeve (illegible) and marked on the back lining "1746B - 42". The buttons are all I.T.C (train - RR) buttons by G. Evans of Philadelphia. The shell has heavy mildew, some late seam repair, some pulling to the back lining and sleeve lining, some wear to the trim at the hip.
