MANSFIELD & LAMB MODEL 1860 CAVALRY SABER W/ SCABBARD. The blade is signed "Mansfield & Lamb Forestdale/ U.S. G.E.W. 1864" (Rhode Island). Has a leather with brass wire wrapped handle and a 2 branch brass knuckle bow guard, complete with scabbard. 4 dings on the edge of the blade, some light discoloration and tarnish, scabbard has a few dents and is rusted. 44"W x 5"H. ITHACA 10 GAUGE DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. With 32" barrels. Receiver has Ithaca Hammerless engraved in a banner with scroll work on both sides and a fair amount of case colors. Action is tight with lever in the middle and bores are bright and shiny. SN 40813. Stocks are very good with crisp checkering and a little bit of figure in the buttstock. Length of pull is 14.5" from front trigger. A really nice, heavy water fowling shotgun. Estimate $500 - 750.

Blade has several small dings to the edge, has some tarnish, handle is worn and discolored; the scabbard has a dent at the end with some rusting. 39.5"W x 5"H. Estimate $700 - 900.

MODEL 1861 US PERCUSSION RIFLE-MUSKET. 58 caliber, 40" barrel is missing ramrod. Lock has US over Springfield, American eagle in front of hammer and the date 1862 behind the hammer. Stock is in good condition and has inspectors cartouche on panel opposite lock. Top of barrel is stamped Eastover and the number 20 is stamped on the barrel flat left side. Metal is still in white with areas of light brown pitting. A decent example. Estimate $800 - 1,200.

MANN EXPERIMENTAL BREECHLOADING CANNON. 3 3/8" rifled bore which fired a 12 lb. shell. Tube is 59" long and has an integral 1.5" tall front sight cast with the barrel. Gun has a U-shaped tube about 36" long that extends from the trunnions to the back of the breech. Gun is loaded by lifting the barrel to expose the open breech end. A shell is loaded first then a bag of powder. The barrel is then lowered back into the rear of the yoke which acts as the breech. This tube is mounted on a period four wheeled carriage with two 44" and two 36" wood wheels. The folks at Eastover report that only two of these Mann guns were built, both of which are in this auction. Estimate $40,000 - 60,000.
